Edits were made on a controversial topic ([[Sleeping]]), as to factual points regarding us Mice, and such statements were not only reverted, "TheMice" account was also blocked for a month by [[User:Flamsmark]] for allegedly adding false information. When infact we were correcting factual errors, such as notions of "broad consensus".

There is broad consensus (really?) that living at Noisebridge or sleeping overnight is not excellent. That means you should just not do it. Noisebridge is a place for hacking on creative uses of technology, materials, and/or consumables; not somewhere to live or crash out at. Our lease prohibits people from living here, and people living at Noisebridge reduce its utility for those who want to hack.

If you are sleeping at Noisebridge, and not a mouse, anyone else present in the space has the complete right to ask you to wake up and hack or else request that you leave. As a community, we agree that it is not acceptable to argue, to be rude, or to go back to sleep after someone has asked that you either wake up and hack or else leave. '''If''' you fail to wake up and hack or leave when asked, you should expect to have your behavior discussed at a [[community meeting]], and you could subject yourself to becoming permanently banned by [[consensus]] from the space. Unfortunately, there have been [[86 | notorious instances]] of this happening in the past for persons who have chosen to exhibit this type of behaviour.

People who sleep at Noisebridge may find themselves awakened by the [[Rooster Brigade]] or spontaneous renditions of the [[Hackernationale]]

==Resources instead of living at Noisebridge==

The nature of creative work means it doesn't always pan out financially. This is pretty serious in San Francisco due to its high cost of living. Noisebridge offers [[starving hackers|a list of resources for starving hackers]], both on dead trees in meatspace and on this wiki.

If we were to shut down Noisebridge for say a week, work on it, then restart it up, what would you do in that week, or encourage others to do?
We would announce it well in advance, and could reset pretty much everything. Some suggestions below:

* switch over from buzzer to keycode system
* finish off the lights
* do something with the backroom behind the kitchen
* actually hang the kitchen properly
* redo the front space with some clear GUIDANCE for newbies
* take down all the signs, put up clear signs
* declare a hackershelf reset -- anything that people don't mark, goes!
* hold a reset party
* declare the membership list public, and give out medals to all members
* have a once-only honorary membership grant to people helping out
* take lots of photographs
* declare any backpacks full of clothes to be objecta-non-grata

== The Great Noisebridge Rebase of 2013! ==

After many hundreds of earth weeks of 24/7 opening, we're thinking about closing down Noisebridge for a couple of weeks for to do all the things that you can't really do when the space is open.

What kind of things, you ask?

We'd like you to tell us, second-person Noisebridge person!

Here's our proposed process. If you have a major Noisebridge structural change or improvement you'd like to conduct, sit write down and write it up as a Proposal For Awesomeness (PFA), similar to an [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Request_for_Comments RFC], using the template below. Along with your PFA, list who you're working on the project with (ask them first!).

Noisebridge will have a big old discussion, and a meeting (possibly multiple meetings) where we'll go through all the proposals, and consent on the ones that will be part of the Rebase. The folks that are included in the PFA get to spend a delightful few days working like ROBOT SLAVES on building up Noisebridge, on a date to also be determined (probably by seeking to maximize the people who volunteered and are available).
