Here is a list of the current support systems at Noisebridge that are in current need of work.

I'm sure I missed some, and I expect I also have incomplete information for some. Please update the table below as is useful. If there is additional comment, please add it to that field rather than delete the previous comment.

To add a new row, copy the bottom-most row and edit the text to suit the new topic.
! Item
! Status
! Need
! Notes
|-
| Internal File Sharing
| Noisebridge's previous file-sharing system and methods appear to not be working
| James has put together a filesharing system that appears to be working.
| How might James' system be expanded and supported?
|-
|Internal WiFi addressing
|
|
|
|-
| Door access
| Currently door access requires those with access to get up and answer the door whether or not they're hacking on something.
| Looking for possible solutions
|
|-
| Slack Admin sharing
| A hierarchical top-down admin who adds or deletes account is a bottleneck, and also contrary to Noisebridge's way of doing things
| A shared account with a shared email password among a few people would be a good solution for this.
|
|-
| Noisebridge wiki needed for easier and fuller documentation
| Adding new information currently requires understanding and using Wiki markup, which is a barrier
| Add WYSIWIG components to Noisebridge Wiki so it is easier used as a tool to share and update information.
| Since the Noisebridge wiki is apparently mediawiki, there should be a trusted way to add a trusted and stable WYSIWIG component.

Leadership giving levels
We should coalesce around some naming for different levels. Could be based on different circuit components for an actual noise bridge, on famous hackers, on fun science bits like Ohm's Law and the 2nd law of thermodynamics, on D&D/Pathfinder roles, etc.

Here are some possible options. We could conceivably go with all of these at once, and members could choose any type of scheme for their level title. Perhaps could also create their own ranking if they don't like any of these presented.

Colors are suggested as a way to differentiate the member levels, regardless of the names chosen.

The money levels are completely arbitrary, and just for the table to show how this might work.

Different levels of support can include projects? Or help drive funding for specific improvements - so for example if Noisebridge wants some new lockers, members who donate get first crack at new lockers?

Borderlands bookstores has a cool thing where they just regularly have a special members night with drinks. This could be open to all, just held regularly.

can maybe offer kits and some training in various projects along with membership. People who want to get their kids into electronics in the safe and also freewheeling space that NB offers might dig this.

^ That might be something that could be partnered with local schools too. So local schools without NB's resources/knowledge can send some gifted kids to NB for some cool training.

Also, fundraisers at local venues with the various musical artists associated with NB?

Other fundraising
Oh, and as mentioned the previous night, a Noisebridge store could be cool. A place where the various artists and makers associated with Noisebridge can present stuff for sale, with a cut to Noisebridge donated from the artists.

The stuff sold at the store could be:
a) print on demand, so T-shirts through something like Cafepress, books, music, posters etc.
b) link directly to an etsy or similar store, where the particular creator handles all the shipping/billing stuff by themselves.

Other ideas
Also it looks like Mechanics Institute is in general a pretty good model for how to run a nonprofit based on knowledge and giving to the community.

Many hackers and makers are using NB as a space to build prototypes and launch their businesses. It would be neat to have a small portion of NB dedicated to the shelves of products that were either developed at NB or are/were produced at NB.

In addition to supporting our local business and them supporting us by providing product, this might be a neat way to inspire other makers to create new projects they can add to the collection
! People
! Interested
! Works in progress
|-
| Set up a fundraising database
| "Noisebridge should acquire and use a starter donor database product, such as Little Green Light, and transfer all donor information available to that product. All new donations should be entered or transferred to the database weekly."
| 1-2?
| Rebecca
|-
| Create the "Clear Plan" document: rent version
| "The first step in raising money for a new home will be to come to an agreement about what that home should look like. Clear financial modeling will be needed to apply for money from institutional funders and for large donations from individuals."

"should include (1) cost of acquisition, improvements and move, and (2) an annual operating budget for the new space."
| 3?
| Eric, John Shutt
| Pretty early Rent plan --

includes copy/paste from Noisebridge_Space_Program, Finances, and SK docs + feedback from John regarding targeting a larger building size. Next question: how do we make this sustainable?
|-
| Create the "Clear Plan" document: buy version
| "The first step in raising money for a new home will be to come to an agreement about what that home should look like. Clear financial modeling will be needed to apply for money from institutional funders and for large donations from individuals."

"should include (1) cost of acquisition, improvements and move, and (2) an annual operating budget for the new space."
| 3?
| John Shutt
|-
| Create the "Case statement"
| "A classic case statement creates a clear understanding around the basics of the organization and the campaign, and can be used as material for creating proposals to corporations, foundations and government funders. Some organizations accrete the components of a case by writing proposals for funding, then assemble these into a master document."
| 3?
| John Shutt, Nick Holloway
|-
| Corporate support -- who can we solicit from, who are we willing to solicit from, etc.
| "Start compiling a list of foundations to research and secure guidelines. Our list can be a start. Be ready to make application as soon as you have formalized your campaign plan."
| 3?
| Rebecca
|-
| Create an individual donors plan
| "As you develop your capital campaign plan, you will need to develop leadership giving levels with appropriate benefits such as inclusion on donor walls, naming rights for physical spaces (doesn’t have to be named after the donor), or other perks.
| 3?
| Eric
|-
| Leadership group
| "Noisebridge should form a capital campaign committee to lead the process of raising money. The committee should have at least one chair, preferably two or more co-chairs, and subcommittee heads with specific areas of responsibility such as individual donors, government relations, foundations, and corporate donors. This list is not prescriptive and should not be used as a checklist. Noisebridge will have to develop a model that is right for you."
| SK says 6-9
| John Shutt, Rebecca
